Sgwd Einion Gam
Sgwd Einion Gam is the hardest waterfall to reach in 'Waterfall Country' (Brecon Beacons National Park) and can be accessed only by crossing and re-crossing the river Afon Pyrddin. This fall is caused by the presence of a geological fault which brings a hard sandstone known as the 'Farewell Rock' up against softer mudstones. The river drops 70 ft (21 m) into a plunge pool encircled by dark moss- and liverwort-covered cliffs.
